Root canal treatment, Hyderabad
A few years ago, if you had a tooth with a large cavity, you’d probably loose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called the root canal treatment you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp, which provides nutrients to the tooth. If the pulp tissue gets diseased or injured, it dies. The tooth ultimately gets infected and you may start feeling pain and/or sensitivity to hot and cold foods. In such cases, root canal treatment becomes the treatment of choice.
During the root canal procedure, we remove this diseased pulp tissue by making a hole in your tooth and pulling out the infected nerves and pulp. Some medications may also be put inside the root canals to help get rid of germs and prevent infection. You may also have to take some oral medications to help control infection that may have spread beyond the tooth.
When the tooth and its root canals have completely healed, we place a filling inside the canals and finally seal the tooth to prevent any further bacteria from leaking inside the tooth.
In the final step, we usually place a porcelain crown over the tooth so as to provide strength to the tooth for chewing purposes.
Teeth begin to develop before birth and throughout our lifetime and enable us to eat and stay healthy, have an attractive smile and place us at higher social status. Infact, research shows that a beautiful smile can make us appear smarter, intelligent, interesting, successful and wealthy to others.
